1 - PREAMBLE

Many retirees and former employees of 91¿´Æ¬ wish to remain connected to the community and stay informed about University news and events.

2 - PURPOSE

The purpose of this policy is to establish a mechanism and guidelines for the distribution of bulk e-mail to retirees and former employees.

3 - POLICY

Upon their retirement, or at any time thereafter, 91¿´Æ¬ retirees and former employees will be given the opportunity to subscribe to a mailing list for retirees. Subscribers will be able to unsubscribe from the list at any time and will be able to use any e-mail address to sign up. Human Resources will review and approve requests to subscribe to the mailing list.

The list will be used to send retirees and former employees e-mail about public events, activities, lectures, notable honours achieved by members of the 91¿´Æ¬ community, notices of the deaths of members of the 91¿´Æ¬ community, and other news and information as relevant.

The Marketing and Communications Office will have access to send e-mail to this list, and will approve access for other departments that have a demonstrated need for ongoing access to the list.
