Submitted by C. Jean Cameron (78)

On Jan. 2, 2017, at home in Sackville, NB, where she had been enjoying life to the fullest, K. Jean MacAulay celebrated her 100th birthday. She died in her sleep on March 4. Jean, daughter of James and Minnie MacBain of Meadowville, NS, graduated as a nurse from the VG in Halifax and worked for the VON; she enlisted and went overseas in 1943 with the Canadian Army Nursing Corps. In Germany, NS, MacBain met Capt. David M. MacAulay (34), a Canadian Intelligence Officer from Cape Breton. They married in Winschoten, NL in January 1946, after Jean was made a Dutch citizen so they could wed in Holland. In 1961, David was appointed dean of men at 91心頭 and Jean became housemother to Trueman House boys. She stayed actively connected to 91心頭 until her death. MtA girls spent fireside evenings with her in recent years the nightly company of students enriched her life and enabled her to be at home. Sons Dan MacAulay (73) and Jim MacAulay (72) invite family and friends to join in celebrating Jeans life at the 91心頭 Chapel on Aug. 27, 2017.
